Chris Bonelli, 2013-2014 vice president of Chapter development, is a senior undergraduate communication student at Virginia Tech. He also has minors in psychology and professional writing.
He joined Virginia Tech’s PRSSA Chapter in the spring semester of his freshman year. The following spring, he served as assistant firm director for Tech’s student-run firm, Ut Prosim PR. Bonelli then served as VT PRSSA’s vice president for the 2012-2013 year. After attending both the 2012 National Assembly and 2012 National Conference, he knew he wanted to run for the National Committee.
When Bonelli isn’t involved with PRSSA activities, he works as the communication manager for the Hybrid Electric Vehicle Team of Virginia Tech, an engineering team who competes in the EcoCAR 2: Plugging In to the Future Competition. This involves handling the team’s community outreach, media relations and online presence. He also represents the college as an ambassador for the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences. Bonelli leads tours, presents at open houses, handle’s social media and writes stories on the college’s behalf.
Over the past 15 years, Bonelli has put much time and effort into the Boy Scouts of America. After receiving his Eagle Scout and aging out, he continues to give back as an adult leader.
In his free time, Bonelli enjoys playing volleyball and tennis, spending time with friends, going on hikes and watching entirely too much Netflix.
