Vanessa Perkins

Vanessa Perkins, 2011–2012 vice president of member services, is currently a senior at Utah Valley University majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations.

Perkins joined PRSSA in 2010 and immediately became an active member within her Chapter. In the past year, Perkins has served as the vice president of digital communication for UVU’s Chapter, and represented the Chapter at its first PRSSA National Conference and National Assembly. Her Chapter received the Star Chapter Award within the first year of receiving its charter in 2010. She is the first person from her Chapter to run for the National Committee.  Perkins was also a part of the 2011 UVU Bateman Team that received an honorable mention.

Perkins is currently an intern at the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce and is the 2011–2012 news editor for UVU’s school newspaper, the UVU Review.

Starting off as a broadcast journalism major, Perkins  switched to public relations and has since held public relations internships with a local Utah boutique and the Office of Student Involvement on UVU campus. Perkins was originally born in Madrid, Spain and moved to Philadelphia, PA when she was seven. She lived in Philadelphiauntil she moved to Utah for college.

Her interests include dancing, reading, traveling, spending time with her family and friends, fashion and beauty. She hopes to work in public relations for a prominent fashion design house when she graduates in the spring of 2012
