Nick Lucido

Nick Lucido, 2011–2012 Immediate Past President, is a public relations professional and a Michigan State University alumnus. He graduated from MSU in December 2010 with degrees in advertising and public administration with a public relations specialization. He now works within the digital practice at Edelman in Chicago.

Lucido served as National President on the 2010–2011 National Committee. Presiding over a National Committee of 10 and a membership of more than 10,000, Lucido guided the Society by developing a strategic vision for the future in the Situation Analysis while also cultivating the relationship between the national organization and local Chapters. He also assisted the National Committee in leading three national events, implementing first-ever PRSSA Twitter chats, increasing Regional Activity participation by more than 200 percent, enhancing the Affiliate Program and developing internal measurement standards.

Lucido first became active in PRSSA his freshman year and served in a variety of leadership positions within Michigan State University’s Teahan Award-winning Chapter. In 2007, he served as the financial director for MSU PRSSA’s Regional Activity. The following year, he served as sophomore chair and led a committee to host PR Links, the first career fair and alumni reception for the Chapter, and developed other alumni relations programs. Elected Chapter President his junior year, he integrated social media, enhanced membership value and led an executive board of 12 to successfully launch various initiatives. Lucido also served on the 2009-2010 National Committee as vice president of professional development. During this time, he launched the Student-run Firm Awards and revamped National Affiliation standards.

Lucido has worked for Edelman Digital since May 2009 after receiving the Daniel J. Edelman/PRSSA Outstanding Public Relations Student award. He is a member of the firm’s digital strategy team, providing strategic counsel for a variety of the firm’s clients, including Kimberly-Clark, Darden Restaurants and Johnson & Johnson. Prior to working for Edelman, he also completed internships in midsized and boutique agencies. During his time at MSU, Lucido worked in sales and leadership positions with The State News, one of the largest collegiate papers in the country.

In his free time, Lucido enjoys traveling, exploring Chicago, cooking, running, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
