Therese Kuster
Vice President of Professional Development

Therese Kuster, 2010–2011 vice president of professional development, attends the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She is majoring in public relations and pursuing a minor in Spanish as well as a Certificate of Entrepreneurship. She plans to graduate in May 2012.
Kuster became a member of PRSSA during the spring semester of her freshman year. She has held several leadership roles both in PRSSA and UNI’s student-run firm, PRide (Public Relations Interns Develop Expertise). She began as an account coordinator in the firm and served as the editor in chief of the Chapter’s newsletter, The PRogressor. The following year, Kuster served as the vice president of communications for the PRSSA Chapter.
She attended PRSSA 2009 National Conference in San Diego as well as the 2010 National Assembly in Austin, Texas. Kuster’s journalistic work was published in the January 2009 issue of FORUM. Her article was a front-page feature covering National Conference from the point of view of a first time attendee. Kuster won the 2009 Sidney Gross Memorial Award as well as the 2010 Gary Yoshimura Scholarship.
Kuster works for a growing e-commerce corporation in Urbana, Iowa, called Clickstop.com. She is an internet market specialist and does work for 12 diverse websites. She primarily works with the company’s most recently acquired websites to develop the brands to align with Clickstop’s vision.
When not working or participating in PRSSA activities, Kuster spends her time hanging out with friends and family. In the summer, she can be found around a bonfire eating s’mores and in the winter you’ll find her curled up on the couch with a book by Nicholas Sparks or Jodi Picoult. Kuster’s favorite vacation spot is “Up North,” a cabin on a lake in northern Minnesota.
