PRSA Health Academy Grant

We invite PRSSA students to submit an application for the PRSA Health Academy Grant for PRSSA Conference registration.
This grant, which will pay the registration fees for two students to attend the PRSSA 2009 National Conference in San Diego, is open to PRSSA members who demonstrate an interest in health care public relations. The grantees will also be invited to attend the Health Academy session at the PRSA International Conference, allowing them to meet and mingle with Section members and other public relations professionals.
Two grants will be awarded. There is no limit to the number of applications a PRSSA Chapter may submit; however, no more than one grant per school will be awarded.
Eligibility Requirements
The applicant must:
- Be a member of PRSSA
- Complete the application form
- Include a letter of recommendation from his or her PRSSA faculty or professional advisor
- Include an original essay of up to 250 words written by the candidate that demonstrates his or her interest in pursuing a career in health care public relations
- Include a draft press release (no less than one page) announcing the applicant’s selection as a 2009 grant winner. Example:

Please note: All materials must be typed. No materials other than those specified will be reviewed or considered by the judges. The official grant application form is enclosed and must be signed by the candidate and his/her faculty or professional advisor.

About the PRSA Health Academy
Established in 1973, PRSA's Health Academy (www.healthacademy.prsa.org) provides a forum for health care public relations professionals to interact and share ideas with their peers. Health Academy is PRSA’s largest Professional Interest Section with close to 800 members who represent a wide variety of health care-related organizations, including but not limited to hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, health education and research organizations and public relations agencies. Health Academy programs and resources include an annual Spring Conference, regional Health Intersection events and virtual teleseminars, as well as e-newsletters and a comprehensive Web site.
Entries must be received at PRSSA Headquarters by Monday, September 21, 2009.
