PRSA Travel and Tourism Section Grant

We invite PRSSA students to submit an application for The PRSA Travel and Tourism Section Grant for PRSSA Conference registration. This grant is open to PRSSA members who demonstrate an interest in travel and tourism/hospitality public relations. There is no limit to the number of applications a Chapter may submit; however, no more than 1 grant per school will be awarded. The winners' Conference registration fee for the PRSSA 2009 National Conference in San Diego will be paid by the PRSA Travel and Tourism Section. The Section will invite grant winners to attend the Travel and Tourism Section Seminar to meet and mingle with members of the Section and other public relations professionals.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicant must:
- be a member of PRSSA;
- submit an application form completed and signed by the candidate and his/her faculty or professional advisor;
- include a letter of recommendation from the PRSSA faculty or professional advisor; and
- include an original essay of up to 250 words written by the candidate that demonstrates his/her interest in pursuing a career in travel and tourism/hospitality public relations.
- include a draft press release announcing the applicant’s selection as the 2009 grant winner.

About the PRSA Travel and Tourism Section
PRSA's Travel and Tourism Section (www.travel.prsa.org), established in 1984, offers ideas and support for public relations professionals involved in travel-related organizations, including state and national tourism offices, convention and visitors bureaus, hotels, resorts, airlines, cruise lines, rental car companies, attractions, museums, historic sites, theme parks, tour operators and public relations agencies that represent such clients. The Section sponsors an annual conference, hosts a Web site and e-group, provides a Section membership directory, offers reduced registration fees for Section teleseminars and the Section conference, publishes a calendar of travel industry media and PR events, and schedules networking opportunities at the Section's professional development session and dinner during the PRSA International Conference.
Deadline -- Entries must be received at PRSSA Headquarters by Monday, September 21.
