Ron Rhody heads Rhody Consulting. Through Rhody Consulting, he works with and advises CEOs and senior executives in the business, academic and not-for-profit sectors on a wide range of internal and external communications and public relations issues. Prior to forming RC in 1993, he was Executive Vice President and Before joining BankAmerica, Rhody was Corporate Vice President and Director of Public Relations and Advertising for Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corporation. There he served on the corporation's managing committee and directed the communications strategies for the intense marketing battles and the international expansions and down-sizings that were endemic to the world aluminum industry. Prior to joining Kaiser he worked as a daily newspaper reporter and editor; as a broadcast newsman and news director, and in state government in his native Kentucky. He has worked with and advised CEOs and senior executives of Fortune 500 companies on matters ranging from hostile take-overs to corporate repositionings, from operating disasters to major product launches. He's helped university boards, heads of government agencies and owners and managers of start-ups to reach their objectives. Rhody was named Public Relations Professional of the Year by the
professional
journal, Public Relations News; received the Rex Harlow Award for
outstanding
professionalism; was selected as one of the top ten public relations
professionals in the United States by Public Relations Reporter;
received the
International Association of Business Communicators Distinguished
Communicator Award; was named a Fellow of the Public Relations Society
of
America; is accredited by PRSA; received the Lifetime Achievement Award
of
Inside PR Magazine, and is a member of the Arthur W. Page Society Hall He is past chairman of the Public Relations Seminar. Rhody is the author of the CEO's Playbook: Managing the Outside Forces That Shape Success; "Public Relations and the Law"for the college text Public Relations Principles; "Financial Public Relations" for Lesley's Handbook of Public Relations and Communications; and "Public Relations and the CEO" for the book, Practical Public Affairs. He and his wife Patsy make their home in Walnut Creek, CA. |
