Jemalyn Chavez
Conference Co-Director
Jemalyn Chavez is a sophomore public relations major at San Diego State University with a passion for planning events, meeting new people and serving others. She is a first generation Filipino-American who is grateful for the opportunity to grow up in America.
Being a native San Diegan, she is an advocate for several non-profit organizations in the Greater San Diego area. At the community level, she has participated in Invisible Children, a movie and movement dedicated to calling attention to the plight of Africa's children; in Think Local, Act Global, an international environmental awareness program; and in natural disaster relief efforts in the Greater San Diego area.
Jemalyn experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at the New York Historical Society, where she interned in the public relations department while living in downtown Manhattan for three months. She is looking forward to the future and taking advantage of more internship opportunities in the San Diego area.

Anne McNulty
Conference Co-Director
Graduating in December 2009, Anne will be receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from California State University, Fullerton where her emphasis is on event management within the public relations major. Anne was the CEO of the 30th Annual COMM Week, a school-wide conference over a seven-day period designed to heighten the awareness of the scope and breadth of the College of Communications’ programs. COMM Week provides the opportunity to spotlight students, faculty and the department’s excellent educational endeavors while promoting the communications to the university and the surrounding communities of Los Angeles and Orange County. The event provides a fun, interactive learning environment that exposes students to the professional world, internship opportunities and hands-on planning experience.
For the 2007-2008 school year, Anne was the publicity director for the Robert E. Rayfield PRSSA Chapter at California State University, Fullerton. She is the Chapter special events director this year. Anne is also the student chair for the Meeting Professionals International, Orange County chapter, and is responsible for recruiting, welcoming and managing student members. Anne works part-time at The Brownstone Café, catering and event productions as the communications and event assistant.

Brett Deister
Communications Director
Born and Raised in Yorba Linda, Calif., Brett Deister started his college education at Fullerton Community College. Soon after Fullerton College, he chose to go to California State University, Fullerton. He will major in communication with an emphasis in public relations. Some of his work experience includes starting a college group at a local church. Deister has the ability to create, plan and execute tasks set before him. Competing on many sports teams, doing customer service at Circuit City and working with a special-needs student at a high school for several years, Deister has learned to work with others to complete a common goal.
His current position on his Chapter’s executive board is the outreach director. He is also involved with Campus Crusade for Christ. He has enjoyed the friendships he has made through all the clubs with which he has been involved. He also volunteered to be a counselor at a Vacation Bible School.
Upon graduation in fall 2009, Deister wants to work either in the non-profit or technology industry.

Cammy Duong
Logistics & Hospitality
Cammy Duong is an ambitious and family-oriented individual born in Reno, Nev., whose family moved to San Diego when she was two years old. Coming from a family of Chinese descent, she has been taught to put forth all effort into every task at hand, but to also condition herself to take one thing at a time.
Currently, Cammy is a senior at San Diego State University and majoring in Media Studies. She anticipates adding a second major, biology, to the mix next semester. She has been an active member of PRSSA since her freshman year of college.
She is a part of the San Diego PRSA’s semester mentor program and is working as a graphic designer and public relations intern at the Friends of County Animal Shelters.
Cammy enjoys water coloring, card making and discovering something new each day because it makes every day memorable and enjoyable.

Kristin Loe
Finance Director
Kristin Loe is currently a junior at San Diego State University where she is working to obtain her bachelor’s degree in public relations. She has taken a minor in Spanish and will be studying in Buenos Aires, Argentina, summer 2009.
Kristin was born in Wurzburg, Germany, but calls northern California home. She has been a resident of San Diego for three years.
Kristin, a Dean’s List student, is also the media editor of the San Diego State PRSSA Chapter.
For two years, Kristin worked in the extended executive public relations department of her sorority. She has also been an active volunteer around San Diego, from participating in the Breast Cancer Walk to working at charity golf tournaments.
Loe has worked in customer service for five years. She has recently finished work at a tax consulting firm and is currently employed at a restaurant in the Gaslamp District of San Diego.

Marianne Ng
Program Director
Marianne Ng is in her fourth year at California State University, Fullerton, majoring in communications with an emphasis in public relations and getting a minor in human services. Born in Covina, Calif., and raised in Moreno Valley, a small Inland Empire town, she moved to Orange County in 2005 and entered the fast paced public relations world her freshman year as an intern at a fashion PR agency in West Hollywood. Marianne realized this was the career for her.
Marianne has served in executive board positions for PRSSA Cal State Fullerton Robert E. Rayfield Chapter for three years, including as secretary, special events director, and currently as vice president. As vice president, Marianne works closely with the local professional PRSA Chapter in establishing a mentorship program for her school.
Looking forward to graduating summer 2009, Marianne is finishing her multiple public relations classes and internships. After graduation she plans on working in the non-profit industry with an organization or foundation that deals with the outdoors.
