Where is the PRSSA 2009 National Conference being held?
PRSSA 2009 National Conference is at the Holiday Inn San Diego on the Bay. Almost all the professional development sessions and socials will be at the hotel. The PRSA International Conference will be at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina. PRSSA will provide shuttle service to the PRSA hotel so students can attend the PRSA General Sessions.
How many people are allowed in one the hotel room?
The rooms can hold up to four people. Sharing rooms can reduce the costs of coming to Conference.
What is the cost of the hotel room?
The correct price is $169 per room, per night, not including taxes and incidentals. The price was reduced recently from $199.
Do I book the hotel through the PRSSA Web site?
Individuals are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. To get PRSSA’s room discount at the Holiday Inn San Diego on the Bay, please reserve using the link on the PRSSA Conference Web site or using the code “PRS”.
Can I register for the Conference without being a PRSSA member?
Yes. Non-members and PRSSA Affiliates are allowed to register for Conference at a different registration rate.
Could I attend just one day of the Conference?
Yes. You can register for individual days.
When does registration end?
It ends Oct. 5. Be sure to register early because space is limited.
What do I wear for the professional development sessions?
Business attire is required for almost all Conference events, including all professional development sessions, PRSA General sessions and continental breakfasts.
Men’s business attire: Slacks, collared shirts, ties and dress shoes. Suits can be worn without the jacket.
Women’s business attire: Slacks, blouse, button-down shirts, skirts and dress shoes.
Unacceptable attire: Jeans, sneakers, flip flops, t-shirts.
What do I wear for the socials?
Bring Us Something PRSSA is casual (t-shirts, especially PRSSA Chapter shirts, jeans, and flip flops or shoes).
The PRSSA Awards Ceremony and Dinner is formal optional/business attire (suits, dress shoes, ties, cocktail dresses.)
Is there a complimentary hotel shuttle to and from the airport?
Yes. The hotel does provide a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport.
How do I find roommates?
Members can find roommates through their school, or by using the PRSSA list serve or National Conference Facebook page to network. Please be cautious.
When is the check in and checkout times?
Check in: 3 p.m.
Check out: 12 noon
What meals are covered for PRSSA 2009 National Conference?
The following meals and snacks are included in a full Conference Registration. Registration for a single day includes only the food functions offered that day.
Friday night — Appetizers at the “Bring Us Something PRSSA” Fiesta
Saturday, 7:30 a.m. — Continental breakfast
Saturday, 11 a.m. — (Chapter Presidents only) brunch
Sunday, 11 a.m. — Boxed lunches
Sunday night — Light appetizers at the Pier Party
Monday night — Dinner at the PRSSA Academy Awards Ceremony
Tuesday, 9 a.m. — Continental breakfast
I have registered for Conference and have still not gotten my confirmation yet?
Everyone will receive a mailed and e-mailed confirmation of their registration. The e-mail confirmation should come within a day or two of when you register, and if you do not receive it, please check with the registration company. If you do not received the mailed confirmation within two weeks when you register, contact the registration company.
