PRSSA Day-of Competition

The Day-of Competition provides you the opportunity to practice your public relations skills in a fun, competitive environment as you prepare a campaign plan for a client and sponsor. You will gain hands-on case study experience, build your portfolio and network with public relations students and professionals from around the country. It is an Assembly tradition you won’t want to miss.

During the Competition, teams of PRSSA Assembly attendees will have one hour to develop a communications plan for a public relations client. The 2012 Day-of Competition client is Duke Energy. Once the client has presented the case study, your team will have one hour to research and plan a campaign, which they will then present to the client. You may bring supplies, such as laptops or poster board, to assist your team in presenting your communications plan to the judges.

Participants of the winning team will be recognized at the welcome reception and on the PRSSA website, as well as receive a personalized plaque and $50, as a reward for their creativity, resourcefulness and skill.

To participate, you must have pre-registered (this is separate from Assembly registration) and arrive in Charlotte, ready to compete, by 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 15. You will be assigned to a team on site.

Registration for the Day-of Competition is closed.
