Attend a Regional Conference
Broaden Your Network
Learning, networking and career prep come your neighborhood through Regional Conferences. These conferences, smaller than National events, are located throughout the United States and offer a variety of experiences. The locations, dates and themes of the 2012 Regional Conferences will be announced in October 2011.
What happens at Regional Conferences?
Every Regional Conference is different. You may have the chance to attend a career fair, participate in a case study competition, learn about industry trends, or network with peers and professionals. The coordinators of each Regional Conference are excited and willing to help you make travel and hotel arrangements for your stay.
Why attend a Regional Conference?
The benefits of attending a Regional Conference are many, but we’ve listed a few specific benefits here:
- Networking. No matter where a Regional Conference is located, professionals will be speaking and students attending. Both provide an excellent opportunity to broaden your public relations network and create relationships that will launch your career.
- Professional Development. Speakers will address a variety of topics including industry trends, public relations specialties and social media. You will have the chance to meet them and ask questions about their experiences.
- Career Prep. Many Regional Conferences include a special event such as an agency tour, career fair, case study competition or city tour that gives you the chance to build your portfolio, meet potential employers and gain hands-on public relations experience.
- Chapter Learning. Those who attend a Regional Conference can share what they learned with the rest of their Chapter. Teach others about your experiences and the sessions you attended.
