Free Conference Registration Named Grand Prize in New FUNdraising Campaign
The Public Relations Student Society of America announced a national fundraising contest with a grand prize of two free National Conference registrations.
The campaign entitled, the National Fundraising League, is designed to motivate students to begin fundraising early in the year. The kick off for the campaign is set for September 27 when the National Committee releases a National Fundraising League instruction manual providing details of the campaign. Chapters are encouraged to share their best fundraising practices via online submissions.
The accumulated ideas will be placed into the National Fundraising League Playbook available online in December. The Playbook will also include ways in which Chapter leaders can motivate members to participate in the campaign.
"The National Fundraising League is one example of this year's focus to strengthen national programming” explains PRSSA National President Sarah Yeaney. Instead of telling members to fund raise, this 'best practices' approach describes how."
During the months of January through April, Chapters will compete for the title of National Fundraising League Champion of the month. Winners will be determined by the monetary amount raised from participating in a fundraiser.
In May, the Chapter raising the most money from January through April will win the honor of National Fundraising League Champions of the Year and the grand prize of two free registrations for the 2005 National Conference in Miami, Florida.
Currently National Vice President of Chapter Development Bridgette E. Wright is challenging all Chapters to submit at least one FUNdraising idea for the National Fundraising Manual.
“Fundraising has been a hot topic of discussion and the National Committee is proud to introduce this campaign as a vehicle to aid Chapters with this effort,” Wright said. “However, this campaign will only be successful with strong participation from Chapters.”
Wright will have an information table at the career fair exhibition event at the 2004 National Conference to provide more information on the National Fundraising League.
