Allison Tomei
- 2007-2008 Vice President of Member Services
Allison Tomei, PRSSA 2007-2008 vice president of member services, is a senior public relations major at Kent State University.
She joined PRSSA as a sophomore and immediately became an active member. Tomei served as the chapter secretary her junior year where she helped her Teahan-winning chapter organize programs such as the community outreach initiative and the JMC Alumni Brunch. She also served as Kent State’s delegate to the PRSSA 2007 National Assembly in Nashville, Tenn. She received a PRSSA National President's Citation and the Gold Key Award in 2007.
Tomei has held internship positions at Goodwill Industries of Pittsburgh, Project Learn of Summit County and University Hospitals of Cleveland. She has also written for The Daily Kent Stater, the student newspaper at Kent State and PRSSA Kent e-newsflash, the electronic newsletter of her PRSSA chapter. During the school year, Allison works as a student secretary for the senior vice president of administration in the executive offices at Kent State.
When she isn’t busy with school or work, Allison enjoys running, traveling, watching television, reading books, nice weather and spending time with her family. A native of Pittsburgh, she is a huge Steelers fan and spends the majority of football season following her favorite teams. Tomei is also a self-proclaimed celebrity junkie and spends her spare time catching up on Hollywood gossip.
Allison will graduate with honors in May 2008. She plans on pursuing a career in healthcare public relations.
