Brooke Ehlers
- 2006-2007 Vice President of Public Relations
Self-proclaimed shopaholic, Red Hot Chili Pepper lovin’, ice cream eating, I Love Lucy fanatic, Brooke Ehlers joins the PRSSA National Committee straight from the cornfields of the Midwest. Born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa, Ehlers is a senior public relations major and marketing and journalism minor from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA.
With her school being only minutes away from her hometown, Ehlers enjoys spending Sunday afternoons relaxing at home with her family while reading the newspaper and doing laundry. Aside from her Sundays, she finds herself focusing on school, as well as working as a pharmacy technician at the local Medicap Pharmacy. In her spare time, Ehlers can be found working out at the gym, listening to music, laughing with friends or just relaxing.
Along with working and school, Ehlers has played an active role in her school’s PRSSA Chapter and student-run firm, PRide (Public Relations Interns Develop Expertise). Ehlers has served as an account coordinator, as well as the executive vice president for the firm. In addition, she has participated in Bateman Competition and served as the publicity director for the annual UNI PRSSA fundraiser, the Do-Run-Run. Ehlers dedication to her Chapter earned her the 2005-2006 PRSSA Committee Member of the Year award at her school’s annual banquet.
Ehlers plans on graduating from UNI in the spring of 2007. Having never moved more than 15 minutes away from home, she would like to move to Chicago to gain a new experience and perspective on life. As for a career, Ehlers hopes to continue her work in pharmaceuticals as a pharmaceutical representative, or would like to serve as a public relations consultant to a major pharmaceutical company.
