Dwayne W. Waite Jr.

Dwayne Waite is a senior at Elon University in North Carolina majoring in business administration with a concentration in marketing and a minor in communications with an emphasis in corporate work.

Waite has had a very active four years at Elon University. He has served as the public relations director for the Resident Student Association for two years, the programming chair for a leadership conference, as a dancer for Elon's 24 Dance Marathon and as a member of the Morale Committee.

Waite has also been an orientation leader and later an orientation head staff leader, who trained other orientation leaders. As a junior, Waite served the Orientation program as the head team captain, where he created programming materials and planned a two-week training program to prepare both the 16-member Head Staff team and the 100-member Orientation Leader team to properly transition 1,300 new freshman students into the Elon community.

On the PRSSA Chapter level, Waite served as chapter vice president in 2005, and in 2006 he served as Chapter President. He served on the Advocacy Subcommittee in 2006-2007 and is a recipient of the 2006 National President's Citation. As a delegate to the PRSSA 2006 National Conference, he and the Elon Chapter were honored with the 2006 Pace Setter Award.

Outside of life at Elon, Waite has had numerous internships at companies including Express Financial Services in Pittsburgh, Time Warner Cable in Greensboro, NC, Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week. Waite just finished an assistant account executive position at the Kings English LLC, an advertising and public relations agency.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Penn., Waite considers himself a die-hard Steelers fan and will talk about football whenever he gets the chance.

When he isn't busy or thinking about football, Waite enjoys reading, running, listening to music, dancing and spending time with his loved ones.
