Kevin Saghy

Kevin J. Saghy, PRSSA 2006-2007 National President of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), is a senior at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. He is a public relations major and holds a business option.
Kevin enters his presidency after serving as vice president of chapter development in 2005-2006. As vice president, he led a Diversity Task Force of members to create the revised PRSSA Diversity Initiative. Saghy also assumed an active role in furthering the Advocacy Initiative put forth by previous Committee members. Finally, he was awarded both the Lawrence G. Foster Award for Excellence in Public Relations and the National President's Citation in 2005.
Kevin joined PRSSA as a freshman and immediately became an active member. He worked for Image and Communication Consultants, Ohio Northern’s student-run firm, and gained his first Web experience contributing to the ONU PRSSA Web site which was awarded a Dr. F.H. Teahan National Chapter Award in 2004.
Kevin served as treasurer of the ONU chapter during his sophomore year. He also continued working for Image and Communication Consultants and the Web site committee. Kevin began his national involvement by presenting at a Chapter Development Session at National Conference in New York.
Professionally, Saghy served as an intern for University Hospitals' marketing and communications department in Cleveland, Ohio. He also interned for Buchanan & associates, a full-service brand communications firm in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to his internships, Kevin started his own contracting company, KJS Contracting. The Sherwin-Williams Company hired his company to install and relocate their stores in the Midwest region.
During the school year, he is an employee of the sports information department at Ohio Northern and serves as president for the ONU Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma Freshman National Honor Society. Saghy is also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society and Lambda Pi Eta National Communications Honorary. In 2005, he was awarded the DeBow Freed Award for Outstanding Leadership, given to one male and one female in each class.
Kevin’s personal interests include sports, family, friends, faith, music, reading, coffee, volunteering, running and traveling.
