About the Coalition
The Public Relations Student International Coalition (PRSIC) represents the organized efforts of individuals interested in understanding and advancing the globalization of public relations as a profession. PRSSA defines "coalition" as an alliance of distinct parties and persons for joint action.
Mission Statement
The Student International Coalition Web site holds the mission to educate, share knowledge and create awareness of the expanding scope of public relations among public relations students worldwide.
International Coalition History
The Public Relations Student International Coalition was piloted by the Public Relations Student Society (PRSSA) in 2007. The International Coalition's mission is to educate, share knowledge and create awareness of the expanding scope of public relations among public relations students worldwide.
PRSSA formed its first International Taskforce in January of 2007 under the direction of National President Kevin Saghy and Vice President of Member Services Kim Gouz. Members of the taskforce developed relationships with public relations students worldwide and compiled research reports for the Coalition Web site. These research reports evaluate field-related practices and etiquette around the world.
The inaugural research reports were contributed by task force members Mikhail Pozdeev (Russia), Rinaldi Djohor (The Netherlands) and Megan Broussard (Mexico).
In 2008, PRSSA National President Melissa Csuhran collaborated with PRSSA headquarters and Kevin Saghy to finalize the International Coalition Web site. Csuhran also developed a consistent format for all current and future research reports. Finally, taskforce members Rebecca Timms (United States of America) and Courtney Meyers (Switzerland) completed research reports prior to the Web site launch.
