Situation Analysis

The PRSSA Situation Analysis is a document published by the Public Relations Student Society of America's National Committee. The analysis describes the history of the organization and its national leadership roles. The outlined goals at the end of the analysis will lead successive leaders toward one vision and ensure the society's growth and success. This document will remain a work-in-progress, and will be annually updated by those serving on the National Committee.

PRSSA chapter leaders are encouraged to use this document as a template for their individual records.

Joan-Patricia O'Connor, a graduate student at the University of Southern California and one of the two "token" students on PRSA's Committee on Student Organization, took the initiative. In 1973, she presented to the PRSA Board of Directors and Assembly a resolution calling for PRSSA to be managed by students. The Assembly and Board, led by Betsy Plank, 1973 president of PRSA, gave their formal approval during the PRSA Annual Conference in November in Honolulu.
