Altschul Champions for PRSSA Outstanding Internship

This award, established in 2003, will honor a PRSSA member who has achieved outstanding success in a public relations internship. It recognizes a student who demonstrates outstanding academic excellence in public relations and strong practical performance in the field. The award – to be presented annually for six years – has been funded through a generous contribution by b j Altschul, APR to the Champions For PRSSA. Professor Altschul is a highly respected practitioner and educator who is a long-time member of PRSA and the Champions, who has a special interest in PRSSA and public relations education.
The 2008 recipient will be recognized at the PRSSA 2008 National Conference in Detroit during the annual Awards Ceremony. The winner will receive a $300 award and a formal national certificate. The winner’s internship supervisor will also be awarded a certificate to recognize support of public relations students.

Eligibility Requirements
The applicant must:
- Be a member of PRSSA in good standing
- Have completed a professional internship during September 2007 to August 2008
- Include a typed, completed Application Form
- Include a typed 1,000 – 1,200-word report describing the internship experience and addressing each of the following subjects in the order stated:
- Organization Sponsoring Internship
- Internship Supervisor
- Period of Internship
- Internship Assignment/Responsibilities
- Results Achieved
- What I learned through Internship
- Value of Internship to studies and professional future
- Include a recommendation letter from Internship Supervisor
- Include a recommendation letter from PRSSA Faculty Advisor
