The PRSA Public Relations Department and PRSSA will once again offer a twelve-week-long internship at National Headquarters. This program will provide the recipients with hands-on experience in the field and an opportunity to apply what they have learned in their classrooms to actual public relations projects. The students will work closely with the Directors of Public Relations and Education on several projects, which will provide training to multi-task and sharpen their internal/external communication skills. Some of the projects will include writing and editing press releases, updating news clippings, creating and updating media lists, assisting with event publicity, coordinating and assisting with the monthly
E-Newsletter, assisting the PRSSA Department as needed, including expediting mailings, working on National Conference projects, researching and writing press releases and updating and maintaining the membership database. Also includes general office administration.
This internship is for twelve weeks, lasting from June through August of 2008.
Qualifications
Candidates should be PRSSA members in good standing, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Juniors and seniors with concentrations in public relations, communications, journalism or marketing related fields are preferred. Candidates must be available for a phone interview, if selected as a finalist.
Compensation
Each recipient will be compensated at a rate of $10 per hour for twelve 20-hour work weeks. No transportation or housing will be provided.
