The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is celebrating its 40th anniversary! Founded in 1968 by its parent society, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), PRSSA has grown in many ways. From leadership opportunities, professional development and national job resources, to diversity, education and relationships, members have shaped the world’s pre-eminent, pre-professional public relations organization.
Please utilize this online media kit as a tool for your Chapter to initiate its next 40 years. In this kit you will find recent news, PRSSA’s 40th anniversary logo, guidelines for your Chapter to obtain media coverage and more.
While embracing all of the Society’s advancements over the past 40 years, be a part of this one time celebration that will pave the way for a promising future.
Ways for you and your Chapter to be involved:
- Blog- address issues pertaining to public relations news, events and discussions
- Discussion Forums- post questions and comments related to the profession and Society
- JobCenter- career resource center for PRSSA members to search for jobs and internships, find career-related advice and post their resumes
- 40th Anniversary National Conference- attend professional development sessions, career advancement workshops, resume critiques, networking opportunities, social events and much more
- 2008 National Assembly- send one delegate to participate in advanced leadership training, vote to elect the 2008-2009 National Committee and any proposed bylaw changes
- Regional Activities- participate in professional development activities planned, staffed and hosted by local chapters to improve your network, skills and abilities
- PRSSA Leadership Rally- send one delegate to attend the first ever PRSSA Leadership Rally to establish leadership skills in a more personal setting
- 40/40 Club- donate 40 hours of service to any non-profit cause in recognition of PRSSA’s 40th anniversary
- Scholarships and Awards- apply to receive over $20,000 in national scholarships and awards
- Media Coverage- look to advice and tips on how your Chapter can get media coverage in your local area
