Daniel J. Edelman/PRSSA Award for the Outstanding Public Relations Student

Award: $1,500 and a three-month internship for winner
$500 and job interview for runner-up

The winner will receive $1,500 ($1,000 upon winning award and $500 at internship start date) and a 3-month paid internship in one of Edelman’s U.S. offices. The runner-up receives $500 and an opportunity to interview for a position at one of Edelman’s U.S. offices. The checks for each recipient will be payable to the recipients’ university for use on his or her behalf, and can only be used to directly fund the winner’s educational pursuits.

Eligibility and Judging Criteria

You must be a PRSSA member. Judges will look for the following in your application:

  • Leadership.
  • Public relations-related achievements and activities.
  • Digital presence.
  • Recommendations from public relations faculty and/or industry professionals.

Application

To apply, submit the following materials in a one-inch, three-ring binder:

  • An application form.
  • A resume.
  • No more than two letters of recommendation in sealed envelopes. Entries will not be considered without at least one enclosed with entry.
  • No more than 10 samples of individual public relations work.

Make sure all materials are error free and thoroughly proofread. All application materials must be postmarked by Feb. 3, 2012.
