Neumeier Family Leadership Award

Award: $1,000

The scholarship check will be payable to the winner’s university for use on his or her behalf, and can only be used to directly fund the winner’s educational pursuits.

This scholarship is made possible by the PRSA Foundation.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this award, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing
Enrolled in an accredited college or university in Georgia or Florida
Current PRSSA member who has demonstrated an outstanding record of effective leadership in the Public Relations Student Society of America (at the chapter, regional or national level) and/or other campus or community organizations

Application

To apply for this award, submit four copies of the following materials typed:

An application form (Word or PDF) must be completed by the candidate as directed, SIGNED by the candidate, and then SIGNED by a faculty member or PRSSA Adviser.
A recommendation letter of no more than two pages from a faculty member, PRSSA Adviser or community leader attesting to the application’s leadership qualities.
A one page résumé.

Make sure all materials are error free and thoroughly proofread. All four copies of your application materials must be received at PRSSA Headquarters (not just postmarked) by June 14, 2013. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Judging Criteria

Applications will be judged using the following criteria.

Demonstrated leadership with measurable results in PRSSA, the campus and/or community
Writing skills as demonstrated throughout the application
Faculty member, PRSSA adviser or community leader letter of recommendation

The recipient will be chosen by a committee from the Counselors Academy PRSA and announced at the PRSSA National Conference.

About the Neumeier Family

The Neumeier Family Leadership Award was established in 2011 by Kelly and Mike Neumeier, APR. Mike is a PRSA member, Counselors Academy executive committee member and past president of the Georgia Chapter of PRSA. He is a founding principal of the Arketi Group, a high-tech business-to-business public relations and digital marketing firm in Atlanta. Mike is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in public relations. Kelly is a marketing executive with Medical Management Professionals, is a constant supporter of PRSA and is a graduate of the University of Dayton.
