2012 Theatrics Campaign

Register online Nov. 9-18.

Theatrics

The 2012 Theatrics Campaign is a chance for you to be recognized, compete at the national level, and work with a real client to apply public relations problem-solving skills you’ve learned in the classroom.

To be eligible to participate in the Campaign, the team representative must be a current PRSSA member. The number of team members is at the team’s discretion. Teams are expected to implement their campaigns through Nov. 20–Jan. 24, though they may start planning as soon as they are registered.

Final entries, consisting of a two-page overview of the team’s campaign, must be submitted electronically to PRSSA Headquarters (amy.ovsiew@prsa.org) no later than 5:30 p.m. ET on Jan. 24.

PRSSA Headquarters will verify that entries follow all competition rules and then will forward compliant entries to Theatrics. Prizes will be awarded in two categories: most contest entries, based on their school’s student body percentage, and most contest entries, based on all competing teams. Theatrics will notify PRSSA Headquarters of the winners. The winners will be announced to the general public on Jan. 27.

2010 Bateman Competition Winners

“I firmly believe the Bateman Competition is the best experience a student studying public relations can take part in. Different than a campaign class, you actually have to execute your plan; and different than an internship, where you may only be assisting on a few PR components of a project or a campaign, you are seeing the process through, start to finish, and you are making the decisions.”
