Updates from your National Committee

PRSSA will launch its situational analysis on February 1st on the national Web site for the general public. The document will contain the Society’s history, national leadership descriptions, research and thoughts for the future. Visit the national site in the beginning of next month to find this document; Chapter leaders are welcome to use the document as a model for their own local document.

Regional Activity Spotlight

American University PRSSA Regional Activity: "PR IN D.C.: It’s Not Just Politics"

American University Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America is pleased to invite you to join their first ever Regional Activity with the theme of "PR in DC: It’s Not Just Politics". The event will be held at American University in Washington, D.C. from Friday, April 1 st to Saturday April 2 nd and will focus on opportunities in the field of public relations in Washington, D.C. inside as well as outside the political realm. On Friday night, participants will "mix and mingle" with members of the National Capital Chapter of PRSA at a networking happy hour at a Washington, D.C. for an opportunity to meet with communications professionals in the nation’s capital. Saturday’s activities will consist of a series of workshops led by PRSA members, American University faculty members and Washington, D.C. business leaders on topics ranging from Lobbying to Speechwriting to Healthcare PR and so much more! Other events will focus on exploring various aspects of chapter and professional development as well as more opportunities for networking. To conclude the Regional Activity on Saturday there will be a keynote banquet with PRSA National President Judy Phair as the speaker followed by a "night on the town" in Washington D.C. during the historic "Cherry Blossom" weekend! Lodging will be available at the Holiday Inn Georgetown in Washington, D.C. and all events will take place at American University. The registration deadline for the AU PRSSA Regional Activity is March 1, 2005.
