PRSA/PRSSA National Headquarters will relocate on April 16, 2004. The New York City office will move from its current location at 33 Irving Place to 33 Maiden Lane in downtown Manhattan’s financial district. Scholarship Spotlight

Receive recognition for the PRSSA leadership role you hold at the local or national level. Each year several members who have demonstrated superior leadership and academic excellence are awarded with the Golden Key Award. National Assembly

Public relations agency Hill & Knowlton is sponsoring several activities at the 2004 National Assembly. On Friday, March 19th, the firm will conduct a two-part panel discussion. Rau´l Garza, National Director of Hill & Knowlton’s Diversity Communications Group, will be joined by other members of the team to discuss the role of diversity communications in corporate America as well as the public sector. The group has garnered several national industry awards in multicultural marketing and public relations, including Silver Anvils from PRSA, PR Week Awards and SABREs from The Holmes Report.

Hill & Knowlton will also be introducing its GRAD (Growth through Recruitment And Diversity) program. Through GRAD, the agency will work closely with Career Services Offices at each university to arrange various recruitment initiatives, including on-site recruitment sessions, internship opportunities and school/classroom visits by the Hill & Knowlton staff.

Mark your planners now to attend the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) Regional Activity, Life's a Puzzle: Place your Pieces: Constructing the PR path to Success. The event will take place in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Top-notch speakers from around the country have already been booked. Social events and networking opportunities will abound during the weekend.

The annual Central Ohio PaRtners Conference will take place at Capital University in Bexley, Ohio. The event titled, Put It Together…Your Future in PR will host several speakers from the Columbus communications industry.

April 16-17 - Morehead State University [abhend02@morehead-st.edu]
Morehead State University will be hosting, A Celebration of Firsts: Focus on the Future. Speakers from three professional communities will host workshops that include resume and cover letter writing and portfolio preparation. Mock interviews will also be offered to help prepare students for the interview process. On Friday, students will be given the opportunity to interact with public relations professionals from the Lexington area.

Do you know your way to San Jose? The San Jose State University PRSSA Pearce Davies Chapter is holding a Sports PR and Event Management regional activity titled, Put Your Game Face On: Scoring Big in the Sports PR and Event Management Industries. It will be an eventful weekend which will include a tour of the HP Pavilion, a professional etiquette banquet, an interactive workshop, professional development sessions and a career fair.
Here’s an inside look at the HP Pavilion:
The HP Pavilion is 17 acres in size, approximately 40,000 square feet, and can seat over 17,500 people! This $162.5 million arena is home of the San Jose Sharks and many other exciting events every year. “There are 33,000 cubic yards of concrete in the new building, the equivalent of a 3-foot sidewalk running from the building's main entrance to the South Shore of Lake Tahoe,” its Web site states.
