PRSSA News Highlight
In an effort to bring even more exciting features of PRSSA to its 8,000+ student membership, the online version of the PRSSA Store and MemberNet have been launched. In addition to the PRSSA Store, MemberNet has been launched for the PRSSA membership to update their contact information with National Headquarters in an instant, instead of having to wait for each dues period. This will increase the lines of communication between the national and local levels. To receive your MemberNet login ID and password, visit https://members.prsa.org/ScriptContent/Index.cfm.

Chris Schenk, Vice President of Professional Development
It's not too soon to start thinking about the third annual PRSSA/PRSA Relationship Month - November 2004. Relationship Month is not about meeting up with your sponsoring Chapter once a year; it's about starting a lasting relationship between the two groups. Your Chapter is encouraged to start thinking about ways you can connect with your sponsoring PRSA Chapter. If you have questions, or need suggestions on what events to plan, please contact me via e-mail.

Also, don't forget that PRSSA members receive a HUGE discount on PRSA Associate Membership, http://www.prsa.org/_Membership/memberform/prssagradapp.pdf. Once you become a member of this professional Society, you will have opportunities to study your specific field of PR. Mentors, networking events and professional development sessions in 18 different PR sections are only a fraction of what Associate Membership offers.

2004 National Conference - New York City

For all of you that were at National Assembly in California, you received information, as well as insight into the great events planned for the 2004 National Conference. Surely, you have shared that information with your Chapters. However, fundraising is imperative in order for many Chapters to attend conference in New York City.

When beginning to fundraise, be creative and involve all of your members. Also, make sure to check with your college or university in order to ensure the validity of your fundraiser, and check prices of registration, hotel and transportation. Then, set a goal amount and target date to reach that amount.

If your Chapter is not familiar with fundraising, post a message on the message board at www.prssa.org to talk with other chapters. Conference Committee or National Committee members are also available for more input.
