Scholarship Spotlight

The National Gold Key Award was created in 1983 to acknowledge outstanding PRSSA members. It is the highest individual honor bestowed upon members of the Public Relations Student Society of America. It recognizes those students who display outstanding academic excellence in public relations and leadership in PRSSA. Please keep in mind that this is not a competition. All applicants who meet the criteria will be awarded a Gold Key. Applications are due June 3rd. Click here for more information and qualifications for the Gold Key Award.

April 15-17: Mississippi State University's Regional Activity, "PR the Universal Language."

April 21-22: West Virginia State University's Regional Activity, "Preserving History and Culture through Public Relations."

April 22-23: California State University, Fullerton's Regional Activity, "Backstage Pass to Entertainment PR: The O.C. Meets Hollywood."

Want national exposure for your Chapter? Submit articles for the Chapter highlights section of the online Annual Report. If you have an interesting event and think it should be highlighted in the Annual Report, I invite you to submit it with any photographs you have. The report is a year-in-review offering an in-depth perspective of PRSSA and the profession. All submissions will be considered. National Conference Preview

PRSSA 2005 National Conference - "Turn Up the Heat: Blending Voices and Perspectives" - Miami Beach, Fla. - Fontainebleau Hilton - Oct. 21-25. 

The 2005 Conference Committee is pleased to bring back the "Dine Around" for attendees to enjoy an evening of dining along with networking opportunities. The registration form for the "Dine Around" is available on the Conference Web site at www.prssa.org/conference/2005.  The "Dine Around" gives attendees an opportunity to meet with one or two professionals over dinner in a small group of about 12; ten students and two professionals.  The restaurants that the Conference Committee has selected are well known for their delicious food and enjoyable ambiance. These restaurants include Joe's Stone Crab Restaurant; Larios on The Beach, News Café  and the South Beach Macarena.

Speakers for this year's Conference are steadily being confirmed.  Check the Web site regularly for the most up-to-date Conference information. If you have questions, please e-mail the Conference Committee at puruf05@jou.ufl.edu.
